super:This is not as simple as you might think, i have asked Al and i've even got him thinking and he's says he's going to look into it. I have been playing music dvd and blu-rays on it this afternoon with different phasing and when both subs are in the same phase the bass seems a lot louder and deeper, except in the listening position. Everywhere else in the room the bass is almost over powering..except the listening position, which defeats the object of what the anti-mode is supposed to do. When one sub is switched out of phase the bass has an even all round sound...the listening area is a lot wider.
I have found nothing with subs easy , quite the contrary very difficult to set up.
I have tried using the phase switch and found it very difficult to find an definitive position although neg phase seems to be deeper , i am still experimenting with sub positioning.
Even tried measuring , and switching phase on left hand sub has no difference , right hand sub there is a slight measurable difference
Of course as you are finding the room is having the most influence on what you hear, you will never get even bass all around the room
It will always be what you find sounds best to you that matters, not theory
