Hi everyone
I have a Sony V464000 LCD screen which I purchased from John Lewis in January this year with the 5 year warranty. The problem I have noticed is when watching Sky HD (either live or recorded) or Blu ray dics there are several lighter vertical stripes which start at the centre of the screen and gradually fade away to the left side but none on the right. These are only noticeable in dark scenes but spoil an otherwise excellent picture. They are much less prominent on Standard definition broadcasts and DVDs. The Blu ray player and Sky HD box are connected using good quality HDMI leads into the A/V amp and then a single good qaulity HDMI lead into the screen.
Could this problem be RF interference?. Would a direct connection between the Sky box and screen be a better solution?
I have set the screen up using the THX optimiser programme and glasses with the backlight set on minimum ( as the backlight setting is increased the stripes become more noticeable).
When watching fully lit daylight scenes the picture quality is stunning with no striping noticeable.
Should I (in your opinions) be contacting the retailer for a service visit or possible replacement?
Any thoughts or opinions/possible solutions would be most welcome.
Thanks in advance
Stefan
