Stereo power amp, cyrus or other brand?

If I wanted to add a stereo power amp to my xpd qx would I be best to stick with Cyrus?

For a pair of A6's I'd recommend an X Power to do the job properly. An 8 Power would be fine.

I have known people mix and match, but that is generally using dedicated pre and power. If you get an x power (for example) would you then want to change to a pre xpd or dac xp?

I went through that process recently, had an 8xpd qz, got an x power (massive improvement), then swapped the 8xpd for a Dac XP (another big step up). My speakers are Spendor SA1's, so same family 🙂

Some people say the pre amps in the cyrus range are weak, but I have to say I am very happy with the Dac XP. Tha may be because all my sources are digital tho, so I am not really using the pre amp with any analogue sources.

Others have used various other power amps with cyrus pre's, and vice versa. All I can say is that IMO Cyrus works really well with Spendor.
