I have been thinking about buying the Logitech Squeezebox Touch, to use it with all my Apple Lossless files, connecting the coaxial digital out to my my Rega DAC.

Will the Touch give the DAC a good quality digital output?

I will be streaming via ethernet cable from a Synology DS212j.

Best,

Peter

Yes it will. Some have said they prefer the output of the Touch's own analogue outputs, but you'll be able to judge that one for yourself since you already have the Rega.

Hi Peter

I can highly recommend the Squeezebox Touch. I bought one late last year when it was on special, loved it so much I bought a second for the kitchen!

The quality of the analogue out is almost indistinguishable from the digital through my Opus CD/DAC, it's very very good.

Currently running the Logiech Media Server on my laptop, but am in the process of getting a NAS.

The Touch is a superb piece of kit and amazing value for money, I don't believe you'll be disappointed.

Enjoy,

Dave

Good call.

Running the Touch connected to a NetGear NAS and it flies.
I chose it because it plays everything you throw at it, including HD files, Flac, DTS multichannel, etc.
Also it's a great internet radio hub with apps from the BBC and ShoutCast.
Add the Squeezebox app to your iPad and it's unbeatable
