I have had the unlimited spotify for a few months and very pleased with it,its fantastic value for money,im listening to much more varied kinds of music which is really opening up my ears.Has anyone upgraded from unlimited to premium?can you(really) hear the better sound quality?Ive been on the website today and as i understand it you cant use your iphone/touch as a remote like you can with itunes.

Should i upgrade?is it worth the extra 5 pound a month?

Unlimited is worth every penny,is premium?

To me the quality uplift is not the big selling point (though it sounds amazing), it's the fact you can access it on your iPhone or iPod touch or android phone,, including offline for when you don't have wifi access. That to me is worth every penny.

DavidNorway:Thats a yes from you JohnDuncan, good stuff.I heard somewhere it was possible to use iphone/touch as a remote?or am i just making that up!

I am not in a position to test this but I believe that the Rowmote App will control Spotify.

Worth a try?

JohnDuncan:No, Rowmote is a replacement for the Apple remote for when you (inevitably) lose it.

????

Rowmote is an iPhone app that remotely controls your computer (like Apple's Remote App, or remote control which don't control Spotify) but it has Spotify listed as one of the programmes that it is capable of controlling. I believe that remote control of Spotify using an iPhone is what he was looking for.

Yes, agreed. I have both Rowmote and Remoteless on my iPhone and iPod Touch, but Rowmote *used* to just be an Apple Remote replacement (which wouldn't control Spotify). However, I note that Rowmote now *claims* to control Spotify, so will take a look - though I have doubts about how controllable it might be without a UI that allows you to search etc. Will report back.

My use of Rowmote has been with the laptop connected to the TV & HiFi and although I have not tried it on Spotify, I imagine it will work but just be a glorified mouse/trackpad/Apple Remote; ie you need a screen to see what you are doing for typing etc. It will not work on the phone screen as Apple's Remote App does (I doubt). Sorry if I misled anyone.......Maybe once someone has actually tried it?

Edit:- Tried it and it does indeed require a screen to see what you are doing. It does replace a remote mouse & keyboard though.....

edit-preferences- tick enable higher bitrate & enable hardware acceleration

set up your play lists for off line (small button top left) and every tune you add will be saved.

then start thinking about all the money you are about to spend on dacs or soundcards!
