I used to spend that on CD's in the past, and as I discovered when I got them home, not all of them were listenable, or maybe had 1 or 2 stand-out tracks on the entire album.

The old guard will hate you for that! We are all supposed to touch and rub the 'tactile' CD jewel case ( the ones that survive the rigours of postage without shattering), then we are supposed to play every album all the way through, without skipping any tracks, to get the full impact of the artist's vision! (I can't even write it with a straight face.)

Mmmhh, must be officially old then ...

To truly 'relax into music' I can't keep skipping tracks.

It's ok to scan possible buys or to compile a play list but otherwise, its an album in its entirety, good and not so good tracks.

Bad enough to have to turn an LP halfway through.

Plus 1... most of the CD's I buy nowadays are styled like the old cardboard LP gate covers

Yes you might have to.

I don't want to spoil your fun and enjoyment but paying subscriptions are after all a big part of what keeps these services running and it pays the artists something too for their work ...

A friend of mine baulks at the idea of paying for his (and his sons) music from Spotify, and unbelievably still fondly remembers the days of Limewire and Kazaa!

Nothing wrong with free spotify but the premium service is worth it. We have the family deal, the beloved and I at £15. This makes me feel like that alls fair we pay spotify they pay the artists. It's upto each individual if they feel they are to special.

Thank God for the shuffle facility.

2500 CD's on a NAS, BubbleUPnP then shuffle the lot of them. Might have to check out Spotify. Youtube's a great source of all sorts of music and especially the old TV shows like Old Grey Whistle Test, The Tube and the like. You can make playlists in Youtube as well for the uninitiated.

Got yourself good deals - nice one - all legal too! - we're only jealous because you're such a youngster! At least you bring down the average age of users on this site - respect bro!
