Just wanted to give my impressions of the Spendor A3 which I have had for a few month now. They are lovely speakers really well built and finished (mine are oak) and they also sound great. No fatigue at all, well balanced and surprising bass from such a small enclosure. I got mine ex dem for less than £500 which has proven to be a bargain Thy sound fabulous with my Arcam A38 a really good combination. I don't think they get the credit they deserve to be honest but if you are in the market for compact floorstanders they are a must audition

It's great you've found a speaker that fits the bill for you... I have heard the A5's and really liked them too.

Do you have the Roksan Tuner as your main source? I love radio as well and just wondered how it performs, as i have the Caspian amp, albeit an aged MK1i

When it works the Roksan sounds great but it has proven to be really unreliable. Its broken again at the moment it's already been back to Roksan once.

As an update to this thread my Hi Fi Choice arrived through the post this moring. They have a group test on floorstanders. The Spendor A3 won it beating off competition from AE, Epos,Focal,Tannoy and Quad. Strangely the review only criticised the styling of the A3 which I love in light Oak!

Anyone looking for very compact floorstanders you must give these a listen and often available ex dem I only paid £480 for mine.

I agree, I like the look of the Spendors. Nice to see my Elan 30s got the same 5* mark. another lovely compact floorstander.

That price of £480 is a cracking deal, well done.
