i read what hifi every month and the the burning question i have is, i only watch sky hd sport/films etc not dvd's so no nead for a blu ray player, i want to upgrade my old 37" lcd to a newer model.

the models i have looked at are the sony 37w5500 and the panasonic tx l37g10 or g15 (i know it has freesat built in when i have sky already) but it does have a lovely picture. so would i notice much difference between the sony and the panasonic?

current system

evesham 37sx lcd, yamaha 863se (765 to replace) Q acoustic 1010i, qed cables and speaker cables, upgraded mains cables including the yamaha and dedicated screened power supply to AV kit only (perks of been a sparks)

Well, in our July Supertest, the Sony KDL-37W5500 beats the Panasonic TX-L37G15, although both get five stars. The Panasonic gets close in performance terms to the Sony, but the Sony's Freeview tuner is better. If you don't need the Pana's Freesat capability there seems little point in paying extra for the TX-L37G15.
