Hello Everyone,

I have a Harman Kardon HK 620 amplifier and would like to buy a stereo set of desktop speakers for it. I normally listen to a lot folk and jazz. My budget would be around 300 euros (240 pounds). Any sugestions on what I should get ?

You are fortunate. There is a huge choice of speakers at this price range, and many are very good. The magazine reviews here currently favour Dali (Zensor 1 and 3 models), QAcoustics 3020, and Monitor Audio Bronze 2.

To these, none of which I am intimate with, I'd add two recent models that sounded very good at the recent Bristol show. Elac's new debut range, the B5 is £250, and sounded much better than you might reasonably expect. Similarly, the new Mission LX, which I believe were just £200.

Do try to hear a few before you decide.
