Question Speakers suggestion for Marantz PM-8003

Here I am!
Today I went in one of the few hi-fi stores in my city.
He proposed me 2 speakers more than others, majorly because, listen to him, he can make me a really good price.

Wharfedale Evo 4.3 around 950€ new
Monitor Audio Silver 200 7G 1100€ second hand

I was hurry so I didn't brought my Marantz; he let me play a little with his amplifier still Marantz but it was the modern PM-7000N.
Honestly, as I thought, I'm too newbie to hear the difference; the only thing I noticed is that the Monitor Audio seemed more "bassy" than Wharfedale.

He said that both are very good speakers, pretty similar and seems like that list price is quiet similar, maybe the Monitor Audio a little bit more expensive but not a big difference.

What do you think about that 2 speakers?

You really have to listen to speakers before you buy! I have Kef R700s with my Marantz PM8005. I bought them in 2014 after lengthy auditioning and they are still going strong 11 years later. I mainly listen to classical music to which they bring great clarity.

PS I am waiting, 11 years on, for something to fail. It says a lot about Marantz quality that I have no issues in all that time.

Hey to all! I'm Davide and I'm writing from Italy.
As written in the title, I'm looking for a suggestion for a pair of speakers for my Marantz PM-8003. I'm more likely into floor standing speakers since I have space for them but, if it can be a better choice, no problem to go with a pair of bookshelf also.
My little Hi-Fi corner is around 5/6 m2 but it's, as I said, a corner of my living room (about 40 m2) so it's not a "closed space"; I'm looking to something neutral because I like to play different music genres, from rock to classical, I would love something with a little more bass.
In the net few days I'll go to some hi-fi shops near me but in the meanwhile I would love to know your opinion too.

Thanks to all!🍻
I have a Marantx PM-8006 with Wharfedale Linton Heritage - the speakers are very neutral & fantastic. There is a stand thingy available too, although I've got mine on concrete building blocks at the mo'

Sounds like you have similar musical tastes to myself.
Apart from speaker choice I have, surprisingly, found that the wire makes quite a difference to the bass.
Least bass to most bass
1} QED silver anniversary bi-wire with just 2 connected
2} QED silver anniversary bi-wire doubled (both ends).
3} Linn K400 bi-wire with just 2 connected.
4} Linn K400 bi-wire doubled (both ends), which is too much bass for me.

Currently running option 1, which seems to work best in my room.

I am still thinking of trying option 2 again though...
