I have Cambridge Audio Azur 640 amp+ cd player with Epos M5 speakers.I am thinking of getting a Roksan Kandy mk3 amp, would it be to powerful for the Epos M5, if so what standmounts speakers would be suitable.
No, the Kandy certainly wouldn't be too powerful for the M5s, which are
extremely talented speakers. But if you wanted to try something
different, have a listen to the B&W 685s (£379) which are endlessly
musical and thoroughly enjoyable across a wide range of material.
The Roksan Kandy should be perfect for Epos M5 speakers. I have the same speakers and run them from an Arcam A32 which has 105w per channel output and the Epos really like the extra power (i used to have an Arcam A70 which was 50w per channel). Personally the more chances i get to compare the Epos speakers the better they do stack up against even more expensive ones. One thing i did have to change my speaker cable from Silver Anniversary XT to Chord Silverscreen to improve the overall balance and bass and remove a touch of brightness - but then i think Cambridge Audio are over bright sounding amplifiers so i doubt youll have a problem going to a Rokson Kandy.
I would suggest the Rega Brio 3 instead. Contrary to their specs, the Epos' don't need as much power as one might think because of their simple crossovers.
