I have recently bought a Denon DRA-F102 DAB receiver and a Denon DCD-F102 cd player. I have a pair of Yamaha NXE300 speakers. I want to upgrade the speakers and have listen to a pair of B&W CM1 and they had a fantastic sound. As they are rather expensive I am trying to find something cheaper and the options in my opinion are Tannoy Mercury F1, Dali Lektor 2 or B&W DM686. Which one would be the best alternative?

I would avoid the 686s just down to their need for lots of power (they are rather insensitive).

The F1s would be very good, and the Lektor 2s would be fantastic, but at double the price.

Personally, I would try and get a listen to the F1s and also the Wharfedale Diamond 9.1s - both these would suit the Denon to a tee.

If you like them, then try some further up the range, until you find that the price/performance ratio is waning...
