Speaker suggestions

Hi all

My system is CD based with a Cyrus DAD3Q, Yaqin MC-100B tube amp (KT88s) and Tannoy Mercury M4s. There is also an Apple MacMini for computer audio with all tracks at losless channeled by optical cable through a Cambridge DACMagic 2.

The speakers are getting a little on the old side, though the system still sounds very good. Can anyone recommend floorstanders that can be mounted only a few inches from a solid wall? And yes, they do have to be that close, so please don't recommend anything that has to be out in the room as it is impractical and unhelpful.

What's the reason for changing your speakers? If you think your system still sounds good, we wouldn't necessarily change the Tannoys at all.

If have you heart set on something newer, though, the Cambridge Audio Aeromax 6s (£900 ish) could work well with that set-up (and don't mind being pushed up near a wall), though we'd try them before you buy. They may be more an alternative, than an improvement.
