Speaker size Vs room size

I loved the Monitor Audio PL300 but my room is only 3.7m wide by 5.5m long (slightly higher than normal ceiling) and am told by WHFSV that they need a big room - what is this defined by?

I also have a chimney breast that sticks out 30 cms along side, and a door at the corner where the speaker would be - so speaker in essence has to be away from door, creating a logistical problem.

Would the PL100 fill this room effectively?

Hello

Your room size is pretty similar to mine. Whether the big floorstanders sound good or not really depends on acoustics and layout. My RS6's sit about a foot from the wall and they sound effective. Likewise the standmounter variety will have no problems filling your room.

What does your kit consist of? If you persevere with the PL300's they will appeciate, in a compact space, a taut amplifier.

I should place my speakers on the 5.5m side of the wall if i were you, if this is possible at least.
