Speaker grills

What are your thoughts on speaker grills? Do they prevent higher
frequencies reaching your ears? Are they brat repellers? Or is there
any point removing them as they sound the same on as off?
Personally,
I prefer mine off. I swear they sound a tiny bit better off but I
haven't forked out a fortune for snake oil by doing that so I'm happy.

Yeah I prefer them off on my old KEFs I have to admit, but the missus prefers them on, they look better apparently.

The difference is marginal though, it's not enough to argue with her about.

The same in our house - I take them off when she goes out - she dont like my music anyway
