I have just inherited 2 wharfie dale speakers, Nad amplifier, marantz multi-disc player and dual turntable I need to know what speaker cable would give me the best sound without paying a fortune

Audioquest FLX-SLiP 14/4 or Van Damme Pro Blue both do an excellent job. 🙂

79, 322, or any other 2.5mm cable. You needn't spend a fortune on this and you probably won't lose out from an audible perspective. I got six metres of 400-strand for about £25 from Maplins. Works a treat.

I think ordinary 4 mm^2 will do the job! If not, change something else in your set and/or the acoustics/speakerposition.

2.5mm van damme is fine (£25 for 10m on amazon), I regually put 800-1000w rms and peaks of around 3-4kw through it, measured it (th+spl) against a 6mm cable and there was no difference.

Even in a speaker capable of handling 1kw rms the voice coil former is normaly thinner than a 2.5mm cable.
