I am looking for a new speaker cable (maybe) to replace my Van Den Hul TeaTrack, to go from Arcam P1 to Monitor Audio GS60's.

I am looking at the Chord Signature, with a move round I would only need 1m each side, would this give an improvement over the bi-wire Teatrack? or only needing 1m each side would it not make a differance?

I would then change the inter-connect cables from Van Den Hul 1st Ultimate (first metal) to Chord Signature.

Thanks,

Chris

I am looking to get as much detail as I can from my new setup, already it is a big step up from the NAD C270's and Silver 8i's I had a year ago, and I want to do the new speakers/amp comb justice. I would like to improve the mid band detail (voices mostly) it could be some of my CD's but they don't project quite as I would like, also to create a more open soundstage.

I know all the above is very good already but after spending just over 2K on amps and speakers (which retail for over 5k) i feel the cable is the weak like (given I am using an AV pre/pro and not a stereo pre amp).

You can defiantly change the character of the sound though cable but which cable should you choose?

Chord is highly regarded but i've never used them. Kimber as always been a favourite of mine and i'm currently using Monocle-X speaker cable which is very good. This can be picked up at relatively good rates from overseas. Lately i've found Cardas interconnects to be excellent. Only this weekend i put these in the system and they are exceptional, a very balanced cable with great clarity. Again these can be found oversea's at relatively good rates.

I cant say for sure though if any of those cable's will bring out the best in your system.

This being the case most cable outlets offer some kind of returns policy be it 7 days or 30 like Russ Andrews. If your not totally satisfied with the cable at least they can go back and you can try something else.

I would say any decent thickness speaker cable will do, it's not justified spending money on the Chord Signature IMHO. Mine is £12.00 for 10m of decent thickness cable from eBay and it sounds just fine.

If the speakers are that close together, is it not just a placement issue, i.e. placing at least 6 to 8 feet apart might help tremendously?
