Speaker cable options - advice appreciated

HI,

My system for hifi consists of;

CD - Roksan Kandy K2

Amp - Roksan Kandy K2 Integrated

Interconnect - Van Den Hul D-102 III

Speakers - PMC GB1i

Cable - QED silver XT anniversary (bi wire, 2-4)

I am thinking of upgrading the speaker cable and possibly the interconect (i have another use for the van den hull if I upgrade so won't be wasted)

I've noticed some second hand chord signature interconnects and speaker cable on ebay and also some nordost stuff (flat something or orther, one of which was gold - don't know much about this make. but have noticed it mentioned on here a few times)

If I go for new, then unless there would be a massive difference I think my budget would stop at around £500 ish for the cable (2x 2.5 or 3m prefereabley 2-4 biwire) and possibly similar price for interconnect. So possibly something like chord epic super twin - any views on that cable?

What do you guys reccommend? Also with the setup I have, I would like something I can keep so even if upgrade the other parts of the system the speaker cable and interconnect will be ok.

Any advice appriciated.

I haven't heard Chord. but I can recommend Nordost (see sig.). They definately gave my system some life (it was very lacking). They'll sound faster, with tighter bass, much more detail. More forward, possibly less depth. I used to have the QED's and the solar winds are about 10x as good, Blue Heavens are better still but maybe a bit thinner sounding. The flatlines (gold ones) are probably not enough of an upgrade over the QED's. PMC speakers seem to have very recessed upper mid and treble, so brightness won't be an issue. See if you can demo them plus alternatives. in use in a store. It's a significant amount of money, so don't buy blind (or, er, deaf).

possibly try silver high breed speaker cable? .... I use the SHB coherence interconnect and am happy ,,,

I am awaiting the SHB speaker cable so cannot comment yet on the speaker cables .... If you are not entirely happy, the seller refunds and the price is reasonable for the speaker cable
