I have decided to go for the monitor audio 5.1 APEX speakers and the marantz SR7005 av receiver. Can you please advice which speaker cable and which hdmi (1.4) cable to use? My TV supports 3D (46PFL9705). I would also be using the Sony BDP-S770 bluray player.

A QED Performance HDMI-E: 1.5m High Speed with Ethernet would be a suitable HDMI.

This would allow you to make use of the audio return channel, and ethernet functions within hdmi 1.4

Around £33 if u google it.

There isn't such a thing as an HDMI v1.4 cable. They are simply standard or high speed and with or without ethernet. However, I wish they would start to label them according to the HDMI spec as HDMI has been a mess and poorly implemented from the start.

Re. speaker cables, Van Damme make excellent quality cables. They're cheap and have plenty of copper and good quality shielding. Try the 2.5mm blue or hifi cables. Various studios, pros and speaker companies use Van Damme.
