Just interested to get peoples views on how they connected there speakers to their amps.

I did have mine connected to my old sony STR1200es with banana plugs but when i got my new amp the other week, Yamaha RX667, i couldn't connect with these and had to remove them from the speaker wire which was bit annoying as had paid to have them put on when bought the wire!!

p.s does anyone no if i could have connected them to the yamaha with the banana plugs on??

Hi

Usually you just remove the plastic buges from the red and black terminals

Thats what i thought as did that on the sony, but there wasn't any! Just smaller holes that looked like they might take a plug but are just to small!

Do you need them?

Can't see the use for them outside of a shop having to demo numerous speakers on different amps. After all can the connection get any better than direct to the terminal?

Looking at an image of the rear panel I think those "smaller holes" are the bungs, try taking them out.

oh ok.

But in your opinion do you get a better connection screwing the wires in or with the plugs??

six of one and half a dozen of the other realy. If you buy cables pre - terminated they are generally soldered and make a better long term connection.
