Anyone know of a retailer that doesn't charge hilarious prices - eg 'Who's Next' & 'Velvet Underground & Nico' are £99 each @ Amazon!! - for Universal Japan/Zoom SACDs? Thanks.

Bit of a how-long-is-a-piece-of-string question, but do you think that Universal Japan/Zoom's mastering/mixing techniques offer an appreciable difference in sound to justify premium price compared to 'regular' SACDs? If so, I might consider buying, erm, one.

The SHM-SACD discs I have heard so far are certainly impressive; the prices are just indicative of the price of CDs in Japan, and of course the current lousy £/Y exchange rate.
