Sounds Confused

System Sony Play Station 3, Pioneer 506 TV, Yamaha DSP 759 SE. The problem is I am getting more and more confused as to which sound settings are best for my system. When I have the Play Sation set as Linear PCM and playing a Blu Ray disc the DTS graphic is showing on the amps display along with a PCM graphic but only left and right speaker graphics, however playing a DVD on this setting reveals DTS Graphic and a full display of surround graphics ie L, R, LFE, C, SL, and SR. Switching the Play Sation to bitstream playing a Blu Ray disc increases the volume somewhat and shows a full display of surround graphics but only a Dolby Digital graphic, whilst DVDs played in bitstream show DTS and full suround graphics. All video outputs I have left as automatic, I am really baffled by it all and any help would be gratefully appreciated. Steve.

Don't think your amp supports linear PCM so best to stick with optical output only

Agreed - optical output and bitstream for everything
