sound problems?

I am geting sound distortion when i play blu-ray films thou my surrond sound systeam but when i play the same film thou my tv i have no sound problems. And if i play normal dvd films thou my sorrond sound systeam i have no sound problems can it be my amp is not decording proberley or can it be another issue with my systeam

Most bluray dvds default to a hi-def soundtrack - Dolby TrueHD or DTS HD Master Audio.

Try a bluray which also has a standard def alternative soundtrack or cycle through the audio as the movie plays and try say one of the commentary tracks (usually in lpcm stereo) . At least that way you can check whether just the HD soundtrack is a problem or not.

my amp just decordes in dolby digital and dolby dts. can you explain a bit moro what you mean? so if my amp does not decord in dolby trueHD or DTS HD master audio would thats be the sound problem i am geting and the blu-ray player i have got is the sony BDP-S370.
