Thanks for your advise in previous Post. This Advises have made me question if the configuration Denon 1909 with Jamo A102HCS5 will be better (although a bit more expensive) than the initial configuration Sony STR DG 820 with Jamo A102HCS5 . What do you think about? This is my analisys:

Denon 1909 with Jamo A102HCS5 : (At first glance is a full equip set)

+ From the Jamo's WHF review is a balanced set.

+ Denon AV Can upscale a convert video to 1080p from hdmi and analog inputs .

+ Denon AV Has multichanel analog input

- As WHF reviews says Sony STR DG 820 is better with music and in general sound quality.

Sony STR DG 820 with Jamo A102HCS5 : (This AV has less functionality than the Denon)

+ From some users opinion is an setup with too much Bright

- AV Can´t upscale a convert video to 1080p from hdmi and analog inputs .

- AV Hasn't multichanel analog input

+ As WHF reviews says Sony STR DG 820 is better with music and in general sound quality.

My question is: 'Is the difference of sound quality between the Sony and the Denon so big that the Denon's setup can´t defeat the Sony ?'

¿What do you think considering i can´t consider other speakers (budget,size...)? Thanks for your wise advice .

The Denon would, undoubtedly be the better option with the JAMO A102 (IMO). I initially purchased the Sony from Richer Sounds and tried it but found it way too bright sounding with the JAMO. Sent it back and got an Onkyo and things are much better now.

You will not go wrong with a Yamaha, Denon or Onkyo with the JAMO.

Arghhhh, im kinda in the same situation as pfrank in that i was looking at the sony 820 for use with the jamo A102HCS5 speakers.I need the 4 hdmi inputs ya see. However i half made my mind up on getting the sony STRDA2400ES instead due to more analogue inputs and better spec generally. Now im not sure what to do after your comment.Do you think the 2400ES would sound too bright aswell? I would have gone for the yamaha DSP-AX763 if it had 3 or 4 hdmi inputs but 2 is just not enough sadly.
Any comments would be most helpfull in making my final decision.
Running the jamos currently on an old kenwood KRF-V7010 atm in stereo only and they sound great with music but multi channel blu ray can`t be done with my sony BDP-S350.

Edit.

Strike that...I just saw in another thread that 2400ES prices could be going up very shortly so took the plunge and put my name down for one in the next batch coming into richer sounds Belfast branch.Very friendly guy on the phone, most helpfull i must say and only £379.95 plus £10 postage to anywhere in ireland.

The Denon can only upscale an analogue signal. So if all your equipment is hdmi, you will not benefit from any upscaling that the Denon can offer.
