Seriously considering upgrading my Pioneer 51FD because A - it doesnt play my region 1 discs, B - It doesnt play certain discs (Terminator 2), and C - has really slow loading times.

Is it worth upgrading to a Sony S760?

Hi

Thought I'd put my ten penneth in nobody else has yet!

I would have thought yes if you have the cash, based on your issues with the Pioneer. Also the picture and sound from the S760 won't disappoint, in my biased opinion.

Any blu-ray player will have a faster loading time than the Pioneer 51FD!

True, but that's what the kettle's for. I've never had a disc problem yet, although my collection's not vast and I don't have T2. Are you using firmware 1.32 or later? Also if multi-region is an issue there are plenty of cheap ways to do it via t'interweb.

A. You can multiregion your Pioneer player. The easiest way to do it, is by this.

B. Make sure you've updated your firmware to ensure it plays all discs.

C. Well, if loading time is an issue, then ANY player is faster than the Pioneer. Sony S760 is a worthwhile upgrade. Samsung & LG players load faster.
