Sony KDL65W855 ??

Anybody own this tv?

There is nothing on the internet about it!

Not even listed as a current model on Sonys website even though it's only 4 months old I believe.

Reason being I was all set to buy the Samsung UE65F8000 which I have seen instore.

This Sony WAS £200 more than the Samsung but in the past week it has dropped to £600 cheaper than the Samsung!

With price match and a little surfing I could get it for £950 cheaper!

So now this TV seems to have dropped £1150 in a few weeks just makes me wonder why.

Have Sony discontinued it due to 65 inch 4k Tv?

or is it rubbish?!

Any info would be grateful or even recommend me a good large TV 65 inch minimum.

I would only be using it for games and movies.

Far as I can tell, it would be a UK equivalent to the KDL65W850A which over here (Australia) is specced the same as the W900 model (200hz, Triluminous etc) Pretty sure Sony released it as a semi-exclusive to keep certain suppliers happy.

Sony originally launched this halfway through the product cycle and it recently has had a massive price drop, I have seen one, and it is very good but it will be discontinued shortly and replaced but with a 60" in the 8 series and not a 65", the cheapest 65" in the new range will be a 9 series (KDL-65W955). At this price it is the one to buy but you will need to be quick.

Since I started this thread John Lewis have sold out stock of this TV 3 times then removed it off the website today.

So looks like I wont be buying it from them if I want one!
