Sony kdl W2000/X3000 LCD or Pioneer PDP-428XD Plasma?

At present I have an old Sony CRT and want to seriously upgrade to an LCD or Plasma TV, 40/42. The two I have mentioned are my favourites at the moment. I have Sky (not HD). I watch a lot of sports and films.

Sport and films... the two things good plasmas excel at. And you don't get any better than the Pioneer PDP-428XD at that screen size.
