Seems like a daft question I know!

I have price match + scrappage confirmation with JL that brings the prices in at £399 for the KDL-40S5500, and £439 for the KDL-V5500. I haven't seen them side by side yet but wondered what your thoights were?

It is for a 2nd small lounge and will be viewing at 2m. I originally set on a 32", but the 40 at slightly less has made me think! It will be mainly used for Kids TV/DVD + Sky HD. Cheers.

The V5500 is a much better TV than the S5500. Unless you really want the bigger size I'd recommend going for the 32V5500. The BE3 processor is much better with standard definition than the BE2 in the S, and the V's sound is much fuller, not to mention the additional features such as Applicast and DLNA abilities on the V-series.

Thanks for your reply. Pretty much what I thought. I will still check them out side by side, but as you say unless I really want the size am better of with the BE3. The room is only 2.5m x 3m anyway and is mainly a kids playroom/occasional guest room.
