Sony HT-IS100 Review Setup Question

In the April review it says that if you connect SkyHD via HDMI that prevents sending the sound to the HT-IS100 via optical cable and so all you can get is Stereo sound...Grrr.

Would linking the SkyHD box to my TV via HDMI, and then linking to the HTIS100 via Optical Cable overcome this problem?

Or is there another solution? I have a Sony 40W4500, Sky HD and plan to add the HT-IS100 with a BDP-S550.

Any Ideas?
