Sony BDPS550 or Panasonic DMPBD55?

Hi,

I have seen the Sony for about £100 less than the Panasonic in Richer Sounds and from what I can tell there is not much difference between the two so will probably plump for the Sony based on the cost difference.

What is the gerneral consensus amongst people on this forum? I would appreciate any advice/opinions from anyone especially those that own either of these players.

The 'BD55 is the superior player, but the Sony is fantastic value for money. What's in the rest of your system?ÿ

At the moment Panasonic 37PV500 TV and Accoustic Energy Aego P5 Surround System Box so looking for value for money right now and then will upgrade all kit in around 12 months time when hopefully wireless speakers etc will be a viable option.

any reason for the Panna 55 over the Panna 35? or do you need the 7,1 outs?

I would normally buy Panasonic over Sony any day, but I couldn't be happier with the 550 I got from Richersounds in the end, and 5 free films also!!! 3 you get from Richersounds!!

If value is what you're after then you can't really go wrong with the Sony - and, you can buy a few Blu-rays with the money you save!
