Sony BDP S380 vs S350 Upgrade or downgrade ??

I have been a long time user of the S350 and have found the picture quality on BluRay playback excellent.
Last year I got a S380, in order to acess Berlin Philharmoniker digital concert hall (Sony streaming service) and am convinced that the picture quality for BluRay playback was not as good as the S350.
Has anybody else heard such reports and would moving to the S490 or S790 give me as good quality as the S350 for 2D BluRay playback ?

I am not interested in 3D playback.

I upgraded from a 350 to a 380 a couple of years back & thought the pq was much better on the 380, must say the 350 was a much quieter player though & seemed better built
