I was playing around with my s370, trying to make a backed up dvd play from my usbstick. Video and audio is no problem at all, but the sony doesn't see there are subtitles inside the .vob files.

Does anyone know how to make the subtitles to play?

thanks

Kevin

Are you sure there ARE subs in the vob file? What program have you used to compress the film?

Jeps, very sure there are subs. 6 different ones. I used dvdfab to put them on my usbstick, and didn't compress. And I can access them when using my tv without a problem (but the tv makes them very hard to read. LG tv btw)

I also noticed that .srt subtitle files will not show either, but subtitles inside a .mkv container are no problem. Strange.

Burn the vob file to disc to rule out of its USB specific. FAB should be fine so long as its not physically changed anything

Its definately usb specific. The S370 will not display any type off subtitle from the usbinput (except when that subtitle is contained within an .mkv file)

Afraid your out of luck then (Unless you wish to encode with the subtitles 'hard coded' into the film?)
