Hi Guys,

I've just purchased a new Panasonic HDTV and spent a bit too much money on it!! Complete accident!!

Anyway, the sound is a bit shitty but I cannot afford to buy a surround sound system yet so was thinking of running the sound through my Denon DM38 + Mission mx1 speakers.

Do you think this is a good short/medium term solution and if so, what kind of cable would you advise that I do it with?

Thanks

One option you may not have considered are active or powered speakers like the Aktimate Mini - similar sort of outlay and negates the need for the main unit. If you want the features of this though (CD, radio etc) - the TEAC CRH-258i is a very impressive match for the Mission MX-1 speakers.

Either options would be a good match for the screen short/medium term (I presume until you go for a 5.1 surround system?)

Chord Company cables are a good bet - Silver screen speaker cable and either Crimson Plus interconnects between unit and screen (if the screen has RCA audio output sockets) or Chord iChord (if the screen only has 3.5mm audio output on the back - though this is unlikely).
