Last night my Humax software was updated and I seem to have new features etc but no way to find out what they are or what has changed I have looked at the Humax web page but this is no help, can anyone explain what new features I may have and how to use them. Thanks

Not really sure of them all but here are some:-

(1) Series Link (although you can't use autopadding with this so I am not using it I'm afraid in case I miss the beginning or end of a programme!)

(2) Addition of 32X fast forward and rewind which is handy.

(3) Faster EPG upload

(4) Bug fixes but not sure which.

My Humax froze for the first time in ages last night. Hope it was a coincidence and nothing to do with the update!

Thanks for that, but how do you use the series link, I have set it to record say CSI in the normal way but it only records that 1 and not anymore in the series.

What channel is that on?

If the prog is available on series link then a message should appear letting you know and asking whether you want to record the whole series or just the one programme.

You need to turn off autopadding first though.

I set it to record a series - Dora the Explorer :) - and then changed the padding. It works just fine. So possibly turn off the auto-padding, then select the series to record, then turn the padding back on. I've not checked whether you get the padding on the series record to be honest, but the auto-pad doesn't cause problems for any series already set up.

You can't use autopadding with Series Link. You have to have the start and end times set to "On time" to use the Freeview Playback 2 features.

Programmes that are shown in darker blue in the EPG are those that can be series linked.

At the moment, BBC, ITV and 4 suite of channels are the only ones to reliably transmit the data. Some other channels may do. Five definitely does not, which is why CSI didn't link.
