Sky - no active bt line!

Right, i'll try to keep this short. Having sky fitted next week but don't have a bt line. I do have a virgin line however, so my first question is can i use this to connect up to the sky + box, or do i specifically need a bt line? If i do and its not activated in time for my sky appointment, can i still have sky installed, or will i have to pospone it? What a comotion!!

I had Sky+ fitted and I had a Virgin line so you should be fine.

No it doesn't have to be a bt line it can be a virgin line. Though it does have to be active at the time of sky installation as that's how the viewing card is activated(sky will not manually activate cards on new installations).It's actually policy not to install if the phone line's not active, but depends on the installer in reality some may install it anyway others very definitely wont.

Hi daveh75, i always assumed it had to be a bt line. Thats good news as i will be keeping all of my virgin services to avoid the early termination fee, so my phone will still be active. Cheers!
