Sky HD problems

Hi, after eight trouble free months of sky HD the stupid box has started going into standby all on it's own. When it comes back on half the time it says its not recieving any signal. I bought the box on e bay and installed it myself so not really a lot of point phoning sky! Just wondered if anyone else had any experience of this. Any help would be realy appreciated. Have you tried the usual things... like resetting the STB(by unplugging from the mains) or a firmware update this can sometimes remedy the problem for the short term at least. But can be a sign that the STB has/is developed/ing a fault.
