Hello all, new forum member here.

About this time last year I had the opportunity to redecorate my lounge and incorporate Panasonic plasma goodness into my life along with Onkyo amp and Kef surround sound speakers - all based on what hifi reviews. Floorboards were lifted and cables hidden. PS3 added earlier this year and now Sky.

I've had Sky+ HD for about a month. In the last few days I have got the following problem - playback of HD recording is jerky and unwatchable if another HD channel is being recorded at the same time. I turned box off at socket and that seems too have sorted it out. Has anyone else had this problem?

It sounds like you have low signal on your second feed.first thing to do is a signal test. go to services system setup and signal test you should have two sets of bars strenght and quality for each line. all of these bars should be above the half way mark.

If that is all ok there may be an issue with the box and as you have only had it for a month you could just get a service call from sky.

Other than that the only thing to try is a system update to make sure you have the latest software installed. do this by turning the box off at the mains and turning it back on whilst holding the backup button down keep holding the button untill althe lights turn on.. when it is finished it should just turn itself off and be ready to go.

These sort of problems can occur intermitently with the sky + boxes bbut if it persists diffinately cet an engineer out

Good luck.

True, it solves the problem, but if you have started to record something you have to wait until that has finished to switch off box or watch an SD recording (these play back OK).

If it does it again I will call Sky.

Recording one HD programme and watching another either live or via planner should normally be ok.

Recording 2 HD programmes and watching another HD programme from the planner gives me jerky playback.

When 1 of the recordings has finished playback will then be possible and be ok.

So if the SkyHD is recording two programmes at the same time I leave it in standby.

It just looks like the box can be stretched by doing too much at once?
