Hello,

Can anyone help. I want to connect my sky hd box to my av receiver and lcd tv upstairs(about 7 m), so i require a 1 in 2 out hdmi splitter/distributer. There are so many on the market i dont know which ones are any good and what hifi dont seem to review them. I would like something of good quality but not too expensive (some go for hundreds) without loosing any picture or sound quality. I know sound doesn't matter through hdmi with sky hd (because 5.1 sound only goes through optical for some strange reason sky) but it would be handy to temporarily use the splitter to plug other devices in when mates visit with ps3 for example, so they don't have to pull the av receiver out to connect every time. It would also be handy if the splitter was automatic as i am paralysed from the neck down.

Thank you.

I've been looking into this for quite a while now, to get HD through to my bedroom. One of my local dealers use the QED splitters and swears by them, but they're approx £200. His other suggestion was to run a scart lead which I'm not too keen on.

Thatcable.com have a splitter available for £30, and I'm thinking about buying this with one of their 10m HDMI cables. Going by the reviews of their cables I would hope that the splitter would be good quality too.

Hello,

the last time i got a cheap hdmi cable for £10 my sub started making low popping noises, i unplugged it immediately and the popping stopped. i replaced it, and all my hdmi cables, with qed new performance cables and everything looked better and brighter, i know the science says no but my eyes and ears say yes quality hdmi products do make a difference. you've got to trust what hifi reviews but online shop reviews could be posted by the shop, and shops will say anything to sell their stuff. As for genuine customer reviews they are only as good as what they have seen up until then, and I was happy with my set up until I upgraded the cables, speakers and Amp. so i'm not sure which splitter to get, as i dont want to waste money again.
