Just before I get delivery and installation this week of my Sky+HD player, I was wondering if it is possible to hook up an external hard-drive to the USB port to store recorded films and programs ? Is there any legal issues or considerations involved ?

I have a new 1TB Iomega desktop Hard-drive and wondered if I could make more use of it ? Thanks in advance for any assistance...

Morning and welcome back...the new site looks, well...different but not altogether that different...you sure you guys wern't just taking an early long weekend??!! Anyway, got my Sky HD box installed and am very impressed overall but have 2 questions:

1, I have new Sky box set up with audio through Cambridge Av amp using digital coax and an HDMI through the amp also for the picture feed to tv. When I change channels, especially from a standard to High-def channel I get a sharp high pitched static noise through my speakers which sounds very threatening. It only lasts a split second but am concerned it could cause damage. Any suggestions on what's causing it and how it may be sorted...?

2. In relation to my earlier query, what is the USB port at the back for if not to connect something like an external storage device ??!!

Thanks for the help and honestly, new site looks fab !!

Shouldn't look at all different - as noted elsewhere, we hit server problems, and have rolled back to the old site.

Sounds like the amp isn't muting when it unlocks from the digital signal then locks back on again. If I were you I'd take it up with CA...

Nothing at all - at the moment the USB port isn't used.

Honestly, it isn't new - yet...

Nope, same as it ever was...

Not going to look radically different - main changes are to the 'back end' we use to upload content - but should give us greater flexibility to do more in the future.
