SKY HD Connection - is HDMI better than component?

Problem Onkyo 605 only has two HDMI sockets, and I want to devote them to Blu Ray and Apple TV. Given that audio runs from my Sky HD box via optical, do I really need to connect it via HDMI cable, or can I "regress" to component without loss of picture quality? Onkyo 605 feeds to LCD by HDMI.

Great thinking - esp. as I don't expect to be showing anything "video" from the Apple TV! In fact, could possibly get away with it not being connected as such - except hard to navigate unless you do it through iTouch / iPhone. Pity Apple didn't but a "Yellow RCA" out so you could have a little mini monitor on it (rather than your LCD / plasma). Oh well.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Ordinarily, would agree. But tv is wall mounted with HDMI cable (one) submerged in the wall (i.e. hidden install) to allow the 605 to be the "centre of control". Couldn't have another HDMI cable as I'm slightly OCD, and hate wires.
