SKY HD 2TB box - flickering lights

I have just self installed my new sky HD 2TB box. However, standby indicator constantly flickers in all modes i.e. ON (green), STANDBY (red) and amber . Is this normal? In addition I was unable to perform a 'software update' by pressing the back up button (on box) and sky button (on remote) the same time. Can anyone advise?
PS Sky's phone system is down due to maintenance

Is system still down...have you got intouch with sky yet?

Due to the maintenance (major by all accounts) they have a limited phone service until Monday. The box has now 'allowed' me to update the software and the flickering lights appear to have settled. However, all the discounts they offered me (movies and sport £10 pm for six months, hd £5 pm for 12 months, free wireless connector) have not been added to my account!! I am sure they will get around to it after a few chase ups from myself.
