Both channels taking the same feed, (BBC feed I guess) however 143 seems slightly richer in colour but 412 well ahead in terms of absolute clarity and detail, the Beeb seems so much behind in terms of overall performancel

I've read/heard (mostly from the wisdom of daveh75) re bandwidth, transimission speeds etc of the BBC being "second rate" but wow what a difference!

I had assumed that the BBC1HD transmission on channel 143 wasn't actually HD but standard def upscaled. Most of the coverage is on BBC2 with no simultaneous transmission on BBC HD on channel 169, so I'm not sure if the BBC is bothereing to take a HD feed for the short periods that it is on BBC1. (I didn't actually realise that Eurosport were showing it in HD because I stopped watching that channel when Sky re organised the HD packages so that I could no longer receive it.)

Saturday pm it was on, assuming BBC HD feed to Eurosport due to BBC graphics etc, so I would then say it was an HD feed to 143???

Anyone know?

According to the Sky planner next Saturday afternoons snooker transmission on BBC1HD is not a native HD broadcast, so I assume last weeks wasn't either.

The Snooker being broadcast on BBC 1 HD was/is upscaled SD, which i find utterly bizzare and infuriating considering they're the 'host broadcaster' and are filming in HD and providing the HD feed for Eurosport....

Wife says it's all about money, maybe making Eurosport exclusive HD broadcasters ensures increased revenue??

Still plain bloody stupid in my book!!!
