Does Sky anytime tv use up any hard drive space?

Yes, Sky+HD boxes have 300Gb hardrive's but 140Gb of it is reserved for Sky anytime,leaving 160Gb or"upto 80 hour's" recording space.

So if i disable it ill get the 140 gb back for recording?

Mmmmmmmmm i tried it and it dident give me any more hd space.

As you've found out disabling it in the system set-up doesn't work! If you want more space you could consider upgrading the HDD but this obviously makes the warranty void.
