Sky Anytime + HD and Dolby Digital 5.1

I havent seen this posted anywhere yet, but when having a look through the Sky Anytime + on demand movies today, I noticed that there are a few movies now in HD with Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtracks. As far as I am aware it was orginally only SD content with stereo sound, so this is a fairly big improvement for the VOD service.

Anyway just thought I would mention it to see if anyone else had noticed or if it had been like this for a while and I've only just clicked on 😉

Interesting! Are they simply the same movies also available on standard Anytime? (Which are available in HD/5.1)

No I dont think so because they download like the other Anytime + movies, if they were the normal anytime ones they would just start from the harddrive. The one I tried was Surrogates but I noticed there were a few others. Good news if this is the way they are going.

All my movies on HD, well most anyway thats are highlighted, which is 90% of them are Dolby Digital.

I dont have anytime + yet, but on my anytime, the HD stuff again has always been DD with 5.1

My amp has always liten up the Dolby

Yes, not sure of the thread question either.

Anytime movies are in HD and DD as a norm I thought, certainly in my experience.

Yes, but thats Anytime, not Anytime+.

As EM said Anytime+ content was SD and stereo, it now has some HD content with DD 5.1 sound.

Daveh75 can you confirm that you are now seeing some HD content with 5.1 surround sound on Anytime+ service ?

Was obvious you were referring to Anytime+, i don't understand the confusion :~

I don't have Anytime+, but i've seen mention elsewhere of some of the content now being available HD/DD5.1.

Anytime+ is Skys VOD service, which unlike Anytime (which is 'pushed' to your box and stored on the HDD) is a streaming/IPTV service. It's only available to subscribers with Sky B/band atm though.
