Earlier, i logged onto 'My Sky' to check my bill and had a message saying that Sky 3D channel is now available to HD subscribers at no extra cost (previously you had to subscribe to full Sky World package - all sports, movies, etc). Clicked a couple of buttons to update my subscription and 1 minute later i'm watching 3D on channel 170. I'd prefer to have a free HD subscription, but this was still a pleasant surprise today - even though i think 3D is a bit of a novelty which i probably won't use too much.

Yes, I'd rather have my HD free as well, not least because I don't have a 3D TV, particularly as I'd use the money to add another multi-room to my package.

More evidence that 3D is running out of what little steam it had in the first place?

This is not the same as what you get with SkyWorld (ie no 3D Movies+Sport)

From what I see its just the odd program from the Entertainment pack thats made in 3D.

You get premiere films as well as box office in 3D,it's had some realy good documentries too, then there's the football🙂

Oo - I was premature - they just updated their website.

If you have the movies pack you now get 3D movies as well.

If you have the sports pack you now get 3D sports as well.

Before you had to have the full Skyworld package - ie everything to get 3D sport+movies.

This means at last I can drop skymovies as I never use it - and still get the footy in 3D
