OK. I've got £200 to spend on a cdp.

I listen mostly to classical/acoustic music, and prefer a somewhat rolled off treble. However, I also don't want to compromise overall clarity too much. I could buy new (NAD? Marantz?) Or used....I guess I'd get better value.

Google is bewildering as one person's like is anothers dislike, so this might be my last stop. I know its a wide question but...any thoughts?

Ah of course.

Aura VS80 SE Amplifier. Tannoy R1 Speakers. Van Den Hul The Bay Interconnect. Sennheiser HD 595 Headphones. I do a lot of headphone listening. I've tried a Beresford 7510 DAC/amp, but it's not much different from the Aura Headphone output.

My present CDP is a Yamaha 0651 CD copier. As you can see, I like a warm sound, but the Yamaha is just too under energised.

I'd go for a Marantz CD5003 or - if you can push the budget - a CD6003, which is even better and worth every extra penny at £250.
