Shut screen off easily, which models/brands?

Hi,

I have a Sony Bravia now, which I like very much mostly, and I use it as my media center hub. After choosing my music playlist/radio station, I want the screen to be black. I don't want any screensaver or anything like that, just a plain black display, which is hopefully not using much power. I need the HDMI to still be working of course as it feeds the amp.

The Bravia has this capability now, under 'power saving->screen off' but it takes quite a few button presses.

Is there any TV out there that can turn the screen off/on with a press of a button? I'd be willing to replace the Bravia if I could find another TV that had this feature :(

Samsung TVs do I think. They just have the power on button on the remote, and then you power off again using the remote. You can also use most other TVs in this way too. Some are set to go into standby after 4 hours or so too.

In stead of a new tv, it might be worth investigation if a programmable remote control would be able to do what you require.
