So I've just bought and recieved a used pair of Shure SE425's. I'm a little let down with apparent lack of bass. Yes, I've tried the different sleeves to get a tight fit, even tweeked the bass on the iTunes equalizer, but still not happy with the sound of the bass. My Sound Magic E10's are bassier. However, bass aside, I am happy with everything else. There is much more detail with the 425's than the E10's and I'm hearing things that the E10's just dont put out, so thats good. With that in mind I'm conviced they are not fake, haha.

A change of heart. They're AWESOME!! Incredible and superb too.
I stuck with them and I'm happy I did. Its not all about the bass y'know, as I've learend.
Paired with a HRT micro treamer and then some lossless files from my mac, its a truly immersive, pleasurable experience. With detail, clarity and insight in buckets. These are well reccommended.
