Should I upgrade my Denon 1909 to STR-DH800 or DG820.

Hi

OK I have bought a Denon 1909 as I saw it cheap (270) and have not yet opened it up (waiting for a couple of other things first).

I was wondering though should I stick with this (I really do like it) or would I be better off upgrading while I can still get my money back on the unopened Denon to one of the Sonys STR-DH800 or DG820?

I like that the Denon has 1080p upscaling and it does all the HD audio codecs etc. I don't really need the extra HDMI port so am only wondering whether I will be upgrading to something that would knock the Denon out of the park sonically or visually, so to speak.

Neither of those are upgrades! They would be downgrades in my opinion.

Thanks I had thought that but you never know...in the intervening year Sony could have surpassed a 500 pound Denon with their budget beauties!

I personally doubt it, but you never know. I would like to keep the Denon, I just want the best pic and sound really though.

Agree with d4v3pum4, I would stick with Denon 1909. If the Denon can make you happy by all means keep it.
