I would like to get a decent pair of speaker for my Separo SE88i that I have recently purchased. It is only 8WPC. The speakers I have looked at are the Monitor Audio BX2, BR2 and RX2. Can anyone advise as to which out of these three options would best suit my Class A amplifier; with a view to producing a decent amount of volume. That is without exerting my amp to much. Any advice is most welcome.

Hi Bladesmith,

The most perfect speakers to use with a low wattage tube amplifier, imho, are the ZU speakers. You are a happy man, there is a distributor in your country, http://www.musicology.co.uk No crossover network, wonderful.

Thanks for the link. There website is just a home page. I have emailed them to ask how much their bookshelf speakers cost. Do you know how much their bookshelf speakers cost? If they a huge amounts of money then I do not want to waste anyone's time. I did make my own speakers, but they turned out to be too big and bass heavy. I used 15watt, 8ohm, 96dB driver in a back loaded bass reflex hybrid design. So A successful failure in a way.

The USA dollar prices will give you perhaps an indication. ZU site: www.zucable.com I live in South Africa so I have no idea of UK prices. Prices in South Africa are so high that I import my own gear from the USA.

Kind regards,

I had a look at the USD price. That is way more than I can afford to speand on speakers. They look really nice and the build qaulity looks amazing. I have decided to go with a pair of Klipsch RB-61's in stead.
